DCC stages protest over farmers' woes
Khammam: Khammam District Congress Committee (KDCC) on Thursday staged sit-in at the District Collectorate in support of its demand that the problems being faced by farmers be immediately solved.
Town Congress president M D Javed, organising president N Deepak Chowdary and other leaders participated the programme. Speaking on the occasion, the leaders alleged the State government policies were responsible for the crisis in agriculture sector. They referred to the shortage of urea.
They also demanded that the State government deposit money under Rythu Bandhu scheme. District Congress Committee president Puvvala Durga Prasad led the sit-in at Wyra.
He also demanded immediately release pending Rythu Bandhu benefits to the farmers. He said the TRS government had failed to fulfil the poll promise. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was adopting delaying tactics, he said.
Party leader Bala Gangadhar Tilak, U Venkaiah, Tajuddin Baba, Ramana, Sandhya, Narendra, Hussan, V Srinvas, Fareed, Chota Baba, Anantha Laxmi, Narasimha Rao and others attended the programme.
