Debt-ridden farmer ends life by consuming pesticide
Rajapet (Yadadri-Bhongir): A debt-ridden farmer committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Kurraram village of Rajapet mandal in the district on Monday.
According to sources, Nanda Ramulu (45) of Kurraram village has been cultivating crops in his five acres land. He took Rs 5 lakh as loan from others to carry out agriculture a few years ago. However, he got addicted to drinking due to losses incurred.
On Monday, Ramulu committed suicide by consuming pesticide at his residence when he was alone as the was unable to pay the debts. Family members, who saw him lying on the floor after their return, rushed him to government area hospital in Bhongir for treatment. However, he breathed his last while undergoing treatment. He is survived by two daughters and wife.
Local police based on the compliant of family members of the deceased filed a case and took up the investigation.
