Defector Rohit Reddy must quit: Congress

Tandur: DCC President Rammohan Reddy, former MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and former minister G Prasad Kumar demanded that local MLA Rohit Reddy should resign as he defected to ruling TRS party. They visited the 'Deeksha' organised by the town wing of the party on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, they said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's attempts to dissipate opposition by merging Congress into TRS, is like murdering democracy. "Only northern Telangana will benefit from Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project.

Southern part of the state is being neglected. The Chevella-Pranahitha project is kept in back burner on the name of redesigning," they said. They also questioned how the CM sanctions Rs 10 lakh for each family of Chintamadaka village. TDP Yalal mandal president Hanmanthu extended his solidarity to the protest.

Later, they gave lemon juice to the leaders on fast to end the deeksha. Constituency in-charge of the party Ramesh Maharaj, Peddemul ZPTC Dhara Singh, Uttamchand, Janardhan Reddy, Sardar, Md Ali, Syed Shukur, Ravi and others were present.
