Fake travel agency racket busted, two held
Hyderabad: The sleuths of Task Force, South Zone along with Shah Ali Banda police nabbed two accused named Syed Younus (47) and Mohammed Jafferuddin (42) who were indulged in illegal activity and processing visa and travel documents for South Korea on different travel agent names from all over India by collecting huge amount and sending innocent people for employment in the guise of tourist and visit visas.
Officials also seized two cell phones, net cash of Rs 47,500 and other incriminating material from the accused possession. According to police, accused was fascinated to visit foreign countries and he had visited several times and got familiar with the procedure.
As the visa documentation is a lengthy process and since many aspirants are not familiar with the procedure, he planned to do the visa processing and documentation on their behalf. However, he did not possess any valid travel agency license. Accused also procured fake letter heads, stamps and fake travel stickers on the existing bonafide travel agency names.
Later, without any validity or license, he started to send the gullible people to South Korea on tourist and visiting visa from all over India. He also promised to provide jobs to them in South Korea. Further, the accused Syed Younus appointed Jaffaruddin to get the applicants. They both used to charge about Rs 3 to 4 lakh from each customer.
A case has been registered against the accused at Shah Ali Banda police station. The accused along with the seized property were handed over to Shah Ali Banda police station for further investigation.
