Farmer electrocuted while switching on borewell motor in Yadadri-Bhongir
Mothkur (Yadadri-Bhongir): A young farmer was electrocuted while starting the motor of the borewell in his agriculture filed. The incident took place at Rajannagudem under Mothkur municipal limits on Wednesday and the deceased was identified as Ravula Shekar Reddy (37).
According to sources, Reddy took part in ritual pertaining to the death ceremony of his relative Yata Anantha Reddy who died recently, on the outskirts of the village.
While returning home, he went to his farm and tried to switch on the motor to water his field. However, he was electrocuted and died on the spot.
Relatives, who came to participate in the ritual of Anantha Reddy, were inconsolable after they saw Shekar Reddy lying dead in his own field.
He is survived by wife and two daughters.
Local SI Hari Prasad informed that dead body of Shekar Reddy was shifted to government area hospital in Ramannapet for post-mortem and added that based on complaint of the deceased man's wife, Sandhya, a case has been registered. Further probe is underway.
