Update: 2020-02-08 00:36 IST

Nizamabad: Both the ruling party leaders and farmers are vying for the post of chairman of Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS).

As filing of nomination concludes on Saturday (February 8), the interested candidates are trying desperately to move the pawns to get a chance to contest. Those, who had previously served as directors and chairpersons are appealing their colleagues and competitors to give an opportunity to them.

Enthusiasts have requested Nizamabad Rural MLA Bajireddy Govardhan to give them a chance. Though the MLA didn't give guarantee to anyone, the candidates are conducting a self-styled campaign in villages where the (MLA) has full support.

The BJP leaders are working hard to make an impact in the elections against the TRS. BJP is also fielding its candidates in the field and ready to give a tough fight for opponents.

Nizamabad mandal has Gundaram, Muttakuttu and Nizamabad societies. Gundaram society is the largest of these and it includes Gundaram, Khanapur, Kaloor, Srinagar, Shastinagar and Malkapur-A villages.

The Paulda Society includes the villages of Palda, Thirmanpally and Akula Kondur while Muttankuttu society consists of Muttakuttu, Kothapeta, Malkapur, Mallarm and Dharmaram villages.
