No urea shortage, clarifies Collector

Jagtial: District Collector Dr A Sharath appealed the farmers of the district not to worry about ferlisers and assured to supply enough urea to each farmer. He held a meeting with the officials concerned to discuss the fertisers' distribution in the district, at his chamber in Jagtial on Wednesday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Collector said that about 16,000 metric tonnes of urea has been distributed till date to the farmers in the district. Of the total quota of urea to the district, 70 per cent has been supplied and the remaining will reach the district soon, he added.

The officials have distributed about 3,000 metric tonnes of urea through Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies and Cooperative Marketing Committees to the farmers at various locations in the district on Wednesday, he informed.

The Collector ordered the officials of agriculture department to distribute urea under their supervision to each and every farmer and appealed the farmers not to believe rumours of shortage of urea in the district and not to get panic regarding their crops.

Joint Collector B Rajesham, Sub-Collector Gautham Potru, Agriculture Officer Amisabhi, District Markfed Officer Divya Bharati, Assistant Agricultural Officers were present in the meeting along with others.
