Nizamabad: District Collector Narayan Reddy informed that 30,000 tonnes of urea is available to the farmers in the district for the Rabi season.

On Saturday, the Collector held a review meeting with the concerned authorities on the stocks of fertilisers and seeds for the Yasangi harvest season in his chamber. At the meeting, the Collector said that the State roads and building ministers were giving priority to the district and bringing in the required fertiliser to the farmers of the district.

Narayana Reddy said that the stocks of fertilisers in the district are adequate so that the farmers are not exposed to any insecurity and do not buy unnecessarily at a higher amount. The Collector then stated that if fertilisers are purchased in large quantities and not stored properly, they will become shallow.

He asked the farmers to buy and use only as much fertiliser as they need. Stating that the district administration has already stockpiled the required fertiliser for January, Reddy informed that 33.270 metric tons of stock lies near traders. Societies have 11,000 tonnes, company warehouses have 3,000 tonnes while Markfed has 6,500 MTS.

The Collector said that the rail wagon carrying the fertilisers would be distributed evenly across the district as per the time. He said there was no shortage of complex fertilisers for DAP. DCO Simhachalam, DAO Govind, DM Market Ranjit Reddy, RM Seeds Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Rex Point officer Ravinder were also present.
