Fire breaks out in Nallamala
Nagarkurnool: A major fire broke out Nallamala forest on Sunday causing severe damage to flora and fauna in the dense forest area between Vatavarlapally and Domalapenta village of Amrabad mandal in Nagarkurnool district. However, before the fire could destroy bigger trees and plants, the Forest officials swung into action and employed fire tenders and brought the fire under control.
Speaking about cause of the fire, the Forest officials suspected it could be either caused by humans who may have deliberately lit the dry grass or accidentally may have thrown any ignited cigarette that might led to fire. "The forest fire in Nallamala has burnt a lot of trees and dry grass over a large extent.
However, we acted swiftly and brought it under control. There may be various reasons for the forest fire. We are investigating and ensuring that such accidents do not occur in future," informed Vinod Kumar, Forest Field Director of Amrabad. With the officials acting in time, the fire was contained and large parts of Forest was saved from the ravaging fire.
