Five dalam members surrendered

Kothagudem: Five dalam members of BK-EG DVC of outlawed CPI(Maoist) have surrendered before the police at Yetapaka in Chintoor of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.

They surrendered before the East Godavari Superintendent of Police (SP) Adnan Nayeem Asmi. The surrendered naxals were identified as Madakam Masa, Ravva Bheemayya, Madavi Laxmi, Paddam Santhi and Madavi Jogamma.

Speaking to the press the SP informed that the above naxals were vexed up with the ideology of Maoists, faced discrimination and ill-treatment from non-Adivasi leaders in the dalam. They were attracted towards development activities in the agency villages and decided to surrender to live a normal life, he said.

He appreciated the efforts being made by Chintoor DSP, S Khadar Basha, Yetapaka CI M Gita Rama Krishna and Chintoor CI G Yuva Kumar, SIs B Chinna Babu, D Jwala Sagar and D Suresh Babu for their efforts in bringing the naxals into mainstream life.

The CRPF 39 BN Commandant VVS Prasanna Kumar was present.
