Aler (Yadadri-Bhongir): Former Aler MLA Dr Kududula Nagesh is contesting the Aler ZPTC post on a Congress party ticket.

Nagesh, a native of Raghavapuram of Aler mandal, is a qualified doctor and rendered medical services to the people of the region.

In 1994 and 1999 Assembly elections, he was defeated by his political rival Mothkupally Narsimhulu from Aler.

However, he won the election in 2004 general election and 2008 by-election against Narsimhulu.

Later, in 2009, he tested his luck from same constituency on a BSP ticket but was defeated. He joined Congress in 2014. Political analysts opine that he could become ZP chairman if Congress gets maximum ZPTC seats in Yadadri-Bhongir district.
