Government giving short shrift to education sector: SFI
Mahbubnagar: The Students Federation of India (SFI) on Sunday alleged that the State government has completely neglected the education sector and giving little focus towards improving the education system.
While taking part in a programme at CITU office in Jadcherla mandal on Sunday, SFI State vice president Tatikonda Suresh alleged that during the past 6 years the State government failed to fill all the vacant posts in the government schools and did not bothered to provide better teaching facilities to teachers and students. He said that the government has been slowly closing down the smaller government schools in the rural areas and dipriving the poor students of education.
"The TRS government in Telangana is belittling education sector as nothing concrete has been taken up to improve the quality of education. The RTC employees who are on strike for 37 days, the poor students who travel by bus are now deprived of transportation.
The government's adamant and dictatorial attitude is completely condemned by all sections. The government is not only ignoring the employees, labourers, but also the students' plights," alleged the SFI state vice president.
He said the students from weaker sections who are pursuing higher education are not paid scholarships since past many years now. The government has to pay the balance scholarships of about Rs 23,000 crore to the students across the State. It is high time the government realise the plight of students, employees and workers and resolve their problems before things go out of hand, advised the SFI leader.
SIF district secretary Prashant, SFI district president Sunkari Kurumurthy and district vice president Aravind along with others participated in the programme.
