High-Level enquiry to be conducted: SCR
A high-level enquiry will be conducted over the mishap which took place after an MMTS service derailed after colliding with an intercity express, said the South-Central Railway in a release. A six-member committee has been constituted to probe into the cause of the accident.
According to the release, Train No. 47178 Lingampalli – Falaknuma MMTS service derailed due to collision with Train No. 17028 Kurnool City – Secunderabad Hundry Intercity Express at 10.30 hrs today at Kacheguda Railway Station towards Falaknuma side.
Six coaches of MMTS service and three coaches of Hundry Express have been affected while 12 passengers were injured, they were immediately rushed to Osmania General Hospital out of which two of them were discharged.
Senior Railway Officials including Sri BB Singh, Additional General Manager, Chief Security Commissioner, Division Railway Manager, Hyderabad, Chief Medical Director, Chief Safety Officer along with Medical Relief Van and Accident Relief Train rushed to the spot to undertake relief and restoration works. While the train services in Kacheguda – Falaknuma section have been affected.
