Musheerabad: A team of BC leaders led by R Krishnaiah, the president of BC Welfare Association, met Health Minister Eatala Rajender at his residence and urged him to set up a high-level committee to discuss on irregularities in medical counselling this year and take necessary decisions to prevent injustice to BC, SC, ST communities in medical admissions in future.

Krishnaiah alleged the BC, SC and ST meritorious candidates who were supposed to be selected in open category were deliberately shown in reservation categories, depriving 262 BC, SC and ST candidates of getting MBBS seats this year. He demanded that the state government to ensure that GO No. 550 was implemented during medical admissions and abolish GO No. 114 which was issued by Health department.

He recalled how the BC Welfare Association fought for bringing GO No. 550 18 years ago. He alleged that GO No. 114, which was issued by health department, was being used to do injustice to candidates from the BC, SC and ST communities. Krishnaiah said that the minister had promised to take measures to prevent injustice to BC, SC and ST candidates in future.

Among those who met the minister were Neela Venkatesh, Ananthaiah, Mothkur Raviteja, Srinivas and others.
