Hyderabad: Biodiversity level-1 flyover opens today
Hyderabad: The Biodiversity Junction Level-1 Flyover will be inaugurated by MAUD and IT Minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday. As part of the Rs 379 crore project, works were taken up under SRDP package-4. It includes 12-km corridor from JNTU to Biodiversity Corridor works that have been completed. As part of the same package, five projects have been launched.
The SRDP package-4 includes Mind Space Underpass, Mind space flyover, Ayyappa Society Junction Underpass, Rajiv Gandhi Junction Flyover and Biodiversity Junction Level 2 Flyover.
"With the inauguration of the Biodiversity Junction Level-1 Flyover on the 21st of this month, all the works in the package would have been completed. Motorists traveling from Gachibowli towards Mehdipatnam, Raidurg, will be free from traffic congestion. On the three lane Biodiversity level 1 flyover, vehicles would be allowed for one way and the total budget of the project is Rs 30.26 crore," informed B Rammohan, the Mayor.
Briefing about the benefits of the project, a GHMC official Bharadwaj said, "Biodiversity flyover is a three-lane uni-directional flyover with 690m length and width of 11.50m and constructed from DCP office (Gachibowli) to Shahghouz Restaurant (Manikonda) crossing Biodiversity junction. It will help hassle-free traffic for commuters at the junction."
It will provide relief to traffic moving on Old Mumbai Highway from Gachibowli side to Mehdipatnam side (Raidurg). With the completion of this first & the second level flyover, along with the already completed projects of SRDP Package-IV at Mind Space Junction, Ayyappa Society junction and Rajiv Gandhi Junction, a smooth traffic flow will be facilitated at the junction.
