Hyderabad: Box drain works to be completed soon
Hyderabad: Box drain works at Best Supermarket, Attapur, is back on track again after a gap of three months of lockdown. To tackle the perennial issue of water clogging near the supermarket, a box drain was proposed earlier this year with an estimation of Rs.98 lakh. However, the outbreak of coronavirus had stalled the works.
"The works, which were started in February, were delayed due to shifting of electric poles at two locations imposition of lockdown. Efforts are on to shift back the poles so that the box drain works could be back on track," informed Executive Engineer, GHMC Maintenance, Rajendranagar, Anjaiah.
"Water stagnation at the supermarket has become a perennial issue for the past several years. Every year during rainy season, commuters have to face heavy traffic jams. To address the long pending issue, the GHMC had proposed construction of a box drain at Pillar No. 265 to connect it to an existing Nala at Pillar No. 252 Near Sulaiman Nagar," informed P Venkobha, AE, GHMC Maintenance.
