Hyderabad: Mayor Bonthu Rammohan home quarantined after driver infects with coronavirus
Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, his family and several other officials of GHMC have gone into home quarantine after Mayor's driver infected with the coronavirus. The driver, identified as Sudhakar had travelled with the Mayor during inspections and was tested positive for the virus on Thursday.
The mayor said that the staff had voluntarily got tested and the driver found to be infected with coronavirus. Following which, the Mayor and his family went into home quarantine as a precautionary measure.
Earlier this week, an attender working at Mayor's peshi tested positive for the deadly virus. Bonthu Rammohan had undergone COVID-19 tests last week after staff at the cafe infected with the virus. However, the Mayor's report turned negative.
Last week, an employee from the Engineering Department working on the fourth floor of the GHMC's headquarters had tested positive, following which the entire floor was evacuated and sanitised. Staff members were asked to remain in home quarantine and report themselves if they showed any symptoms of COVID-19.
