Hyderabad: MLC N Ramchander Rao demanded the State government to follow procedure in appointing Public Prosecutors
Hyderabad: BJP MLC N Ramchander Rao demanded the State government to withdraw GO-12 and follow a standard procedure in appointment of Public Prosecutors (PPs).
Addressing media here on Sunday, he said that at present there were two systems in appointing PPs- one is filling up of PPs posts by conducting exams on a cadre basis. The second one is the selection of practising lawyers of the BAR council called "Tenure PPs" by a panel for three years.
He said currently there were 287 PP posts vacant. But the government GO is an obstacle in the appointment of "Tenure PPs". Expressing concern over the issue, he said the government can conduct exams for PPs leaving 120 PPs "Tenure PP" posts as experienced lawyers would strengthen our judicial system.
The BJP MLC said that soon he will meet Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and the State Chief Secretary, Somesh Kumar on this issue. That apart, Rao also demanded the State government to bear transport charges of lecturers attending to Intermediate answer scripts paper valuation works without making any deductions from the transport allowances provided to them.
