Hyderabad: Nakshatra Colony residents cry for justice to Disha gets louder
Hyderabad: The residents of Nakshatra Colony in Shamshabad, where veterinary doctor Disha's family resides, closed the main gates on Sunday morning and stating that political leaders, police and the media were not allowed to enter the colony.
They demanded that the accused be given death penalty. The residents staged a protest with placards and raised slogans "No Police, No Politicians and No Media." They said that until a statement comes from Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and justice served to the victim's family, they would not allow anyone inside the colony.
Mild tension prevailed for some time when the police tried to convince the residents to allow them entry into the colony. Disha's family also closed the gates of their house and they said that they need do not need consolations but only want justice.
Several political party leaders including the CPM and CPI leaders staged protest in front of the gate when the residents denied entry to them. Speaking to the media they criticised the government and police for not preventing these sorts of offences and demanded that the accused be given stringent punishment.
