Hyderabad: Pension officer held for taking bribe
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested an assistant pension payment officer while taking bribe from a retired R&B employee.
According to ACB DSP Satyanarayana, The officer, KP Naik demanded bribe from the wife of the retired employee to release the pension of Rs 1,10,000. He asked her a commission of 15 per cent from the amount.
However, he reduced the amount to Rs 7000 upon her request. On Thursday, the officer caught red-handed by the ACB officials who laid a trap to caught KP Naik while accepting the bribe.
On Thursday, a Keshampet Tahsildar V Lavanya and VRO M Antaiah were arrested in connection with a bribe case.
The officials seized Rs 93.5 lakh cash and over 400 grams gold after conducting searches in her house on Wednesday.
