Ready to give blood to save lives anytime says Blood Donor Life Saver Foundation Founder Sunil Dhoota
Hyderabad: Need for blood donors since the announcement of lockdown has become acute as things mostly came to a standstill for the society. In such times, too, a private employee brought together 450 people to donate blood to save lives. For people desperately in need of blood, Sunil Dhoota, 33, a resident of Dilsukhnagar, has become a sort of 'Shanti Dhoot' who rallies people to go to their need.
Dhoota, the founder of Blood Donor Life Saver Foundation, says his network of live donors is ever ready to reach out to the grief-stricken lives – on receipt of information, they rush to the spot, bringing smiles on the faces of the needy and their kin.
"I am always ready to serve people with blood donation to save precious lives," asserts the zealous Sunil. Recalling an incident five years ago that led to the formation of the group, said, "In 2015, one of my friend posted a massage in whatsapp group stating an urgent need for O+ve blood to save the life of a child. With no response from anyside,I stepped forward to offer blood which, god willing, matched with the receiver's and saved his life. This gave me an impetus to mobilise like-minded people to serve the society at large, for I believe service to humanity is service to god."
In September 2015, he started the group with 10 friends, which went on to attract 475members who are ready to give their time and blood anytime and anywhere in the city.We donate blood directly to the patients on request," said Sunil.
"So far, we carried around 900 live blood donations in Hyderabadcity besidesin some districts in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh,"said Dhootha, adding they also lend a helping hand for children at orphanages and old age citizens.
