Collector Hanumanth Rao visited Plight of an electric shock victim

Patancheru: Hearing the plight of the bed-ridden electric shock victim Srinivas, in Chitkul village, Sangareddy District Collector Hanumanth Rao on Tuesday visited him along with RDO Nagesh and Sarpanch Neelam Madhu. A visibly moved Collector assured that the administration would come to the family's rescue in all respects.

Rao handed over to Srinivas Rs 10,000 as her personal contribution. The sarpanch himself gave Rs.20,000. The collector announced allotment of a 2 BHK house to the victim, his shifting to Maheshwaram Medical College for better treatment and recommend his children's free education in St.Mary's school.

Srinivas was severely injured four months back when a 32 kv snapped wire fell on him at Isnapur Crossroads. He has been facing a threat to life. His wife had raised the issue at 'Prajavani' which was widely reported in the media, including The Hans India.

Upon getting this information, the DC visited Srinivas. Rao told the media that the condition of Srinivas was heart-rending and painful. He said he would take up the issue with the Transco officials with regard to payment of compensation. Rao stated that the sarpanch would personally attend to the family's needs.

Later, the DC hailed the sarpanch for ushering in development in the village and his work in the implementation of 'Haritha Haram' scheme in ensuring the survival of saplings. He praised Madhu's development work, while describing him as a jewel ('Animutyam'). Rao announced that he would soon visit Chitkul. Among those who accompanied Rao were Tahsildar Mahipal Reddy, Transco officials, Upa-Sarpanch Vishnuvardhan Reddy.
