Hyderabad: TSWB chairman inspects Waqf land at Uppal
Namaplly: Telangana State Wakf Board chairman Mohammed Saleem, along with Revenue, Municipal and Police officials, inspected the Waqf Land attached to Qutbshahi Masjid in Boddupal Village and other properties, to assess the remaining property, following decades of encroachment. He has called a meeting on March 16 at Waqf Board office at Haj House, inviting officers of Revenue, Police and GHMC to discuss the issue.
Mohammed Saleem inspected the land in survey no 150 extent of 18 acres 32 guntas land in Boduppal. He also inspected the Qutb Shahi Masjid located in 2 acres 21 guntas of land in survey no 89 at Uppal. According to him, some unsocial elements illegally occupied the waqf land and some it was affecting the road widening works. He along with officers inspected graveyards near Uppal X Roads hindering road widening.
He directed the municipal authorities that graveyard land could not be taken for the road widening as it was a notified waqf property. He said this was a very prime land and anti-social elements were trying to encroach this land. He instructed the officials to prepare a detailed report on encroachment and take necessary action for eviction of the encroachment. He assured that the Waqf Board would ensure removal of illegal encroachment and would take all necessary steps including legal options. "Once a property is Waqf it is always waqf it cannot be changed as private property. The Board is taking serious action against the encroachers and criminal action will also be taken and registration will be cancelled if it is Waqf property. Telangana government and Chief Minister is serious about protection of the waqf properties," he added.
