IAP national meet in Hyd from tomorrow

Hyderabad: The infectious disease sub-chapter of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) is holding its 22nd National Conference of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (NCPID-2019) here in the city.

The theme of the two-day conference is to 'prevent antimicrobial resistance.' About 600 paediatricians from different parts of the country are expected to attend the conference set to be held at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad from Saturday.

More than 80 expert paediatricians from all over the country will be discussing various diseases like dengue, typhoid, malaria and other infections.

A panel discussion on "Rational Antibiotic Use: Advocacy to Action" is scheduled on Sunday after which an IAP intends to release a "Hyderabad Declaration" as its commitment towards reducing antimicrobial resistance.

Dr Sanjay Srirampur, Dr P Sudarshan Reddy, Dr C Suresh Kumar, Dr M Surendranath, Dr M Rangaiah and others briefed media about the conference.
