Intense ballot battle on the cards in Medak
Medak: All political parties are taking this parliamentary election prestigiously and finetuning their campaign strategies as the poll day nears. A bitter war of words has broken out among the parties, adding to the heat of the scorching summer.
TRS hopes to capture all parliamentary positions in the state. BJP wants voters to give another chance to form the government at Centre. Congress party has been campaigning for power at the Center.
All the parties are desperate to capture the Medak Parliament constituency, which has a historical background. Meetings, door-to-door campaigns, road shows at village and mandal levels are being carried out intensively in a bid to impress upon the voters. Ten candidates are in the fray for the Medak Parliamentary constituency.
Among them are sitting MP from the TRS, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, Congress Party's Gali Anilkumar and Raghunandan Rao from the BJP. There is a stiff competition among the TRS, the Congress and the BJP. As the Chief Minister KCR has been in charge of the constituency, the TRS party cadre and ranks are taking the election prestigiously. Harish Rao has taken over the campaign responsibilities on his shoulder to win the seat.
The Congress candidate Gali Anil Kumar held a rally in Medak on the last day of the filing of nominations. BJP candidate Raghunandan Rao is campaigning in several place.
Lok Sabha elections will be held on April 11. Candidates of political parties should wind up the campaigning on 5 pm on April 9. So, the campaign is only eight days away. Even so, there is no exuberance as seen in the recent assembly polls. There is no brisk and widespread campaigns by the parties in nook and corner of the constituency. The candidates of major parties have confined themselves to merely organising meeting and road shows.
The activists of TRS are keen on gifting Prabhakar Reddy a memorable win. Road shows were conducted in Chinnakodur and Nangunur mandals in Siddipeta constituency. A constituency-level meeting was held in Siddipet. All the mandals of Gajewel constituency ended. Road shows have been completed except in Marker. Roads shows in the Dubbaka constituency have been taken up in Dabbaak, Chegunta, Doultabad and Mirdoddi Mandals.
The campaign in Medak, Ramayampet was conducted and road shows organised at Papannapeta. Meetings at Nizampet and Chinna Shankaram peta were held. The constituency level meeting was held in Narsapur. Chief Minister KCR will attend a public meeting in Narsapur on April 3 and the party leaders are focused on making the meeting a grand success.
Congress party targets to gain the seat, which was earlier represented by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Its candidate Gali Anil Kumar has filed his nomination papers with a huge rally. The campaign committee chairman Vijayasanthi was also present. The constituency-level meeting was organised in Siddipeta. Campaign is yet to kick off in Dubbak and Gajewal mandals.
A two-wheeler rally was held in Narsapur. In Tupran, candidate Anil Kumar toured with leaders and activists as they focus mainly on Patancheru and Sanga Reddy assembly segments. Party leaders and constituency in charges are not interested in organising meetings of constituency-level workers. The party, which believes in a traditional vote bank, needs to move ahead with that hope. No road show is planned. Rahul Gandhi's tours and meetings are likely to enthuse the campaign by the lower rungs of the Congress.
BJP is going to people to seek another chance at the Center once again. Party candidate Raghunandan Rao campaigned in Siddipeta and Gajewel constituencies, Narsapur and Dubbak areas. On the day of nomination, he organised a meeting with the leaders and activists of Medak.
Toured in Sagareddy, and Patancheru. An assembly-level meeting was held in Chegunta. There is no strong party cadre at the mandal-level. However, following the tour of national leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others, the campaign is likely to pick up further.
