Hyderabad: Governor E S L Narasimhan on Saturday administered the oath of office to Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan as the Chief Justice of Telangana High Court at a function held at the Raj Bhavan here.

Chief Secretary S K Joshi initiated oath-taking ceremony, and High Court Registrar General A Venkateswar Reddy read out the warrant of the President of India, appointing Justice Chauhan as Chief Justice of Telangana High Court.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao congratulated the Chief Justice and presented a bouquet to him. Legislative Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Home Minister Md Mahmood Ali, Medical and Health Minister Eatala Rajender, Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud, Transport, Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Minister for Endowments Indrakaran Reddy, DGP Mahender Reddy and Judges of High Courts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka were also present.
