KCR stresses need to ensure good governance

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has directed officials to follow tri-policy method to achieve qualitative governance in the State. Adding that the strict implementation of the three policies - Telangana Rural Policy, Urban policy and Revenue policy-- will bring qualitative governance in the State, the Chief Minister said the Telangana rural policy should be aimed at providing relief from various problems and issues being faced by the people.

The Revenue policy would ensure that the the bribe culture is curbed and the urban policy will aim at zero level corruption, he said, while holding a review on the progress made in formulating the new Municipal Act, provisions to be incorporated in it and the duties and responsibilities of the public representatives under the Act.

"We are going to see a positive change in the village in three months. We fought elections in the rural Telangana and won. The people gave us a landslide majority in the Assembly polls and blessed us. We have taken up overall welfare," he said and added that the government has decided to bring in qualitative change to pay as gratitude to the people.

The Telangana new Municipal Act would be brought in to eradicate corruption. This time, people are expecting from the government best practices and best policies, KCR said, adding that people will get benefit from the best policies. The Municipal Act should be made to serve the people and to take care of their problems and issues.

The Act should be stringent and help development of towns in a better way, he emphasized. "The act would be made with all the seriousness and commitment and should not be taken in a lighter vein," the Chief Minister said instructing the officials concerned to organise an orientation and training programme for the Municipal Commissioners to create awareness about the new act.
