Kidnapped baby girl rescued, abductors arrested in Bibi Nagar

Bibi Nagar ( Yadadri-Bhongir ): Bibinagar Police on Monday arrested a couple for kidnapping a 15-month-old baby girl in the first week of September and rescued the baby Pooja from them.

The accused identified as Pittala Madhavi ( 35), and Raju Gujjar ( 35) are natives of Karauli district of Rajasthan and residing in Bibinagar here, were into scrap business and got married for a second time by leaving their respective first partners and children, police said adding they did not have children during their conjugal life.

Deputy Commissioner of Police of Yadadri Bhongir zone K Narayana Reddy briefed the media about kidnap case of baby Pooja in a press meet held at Bibinagar police station.

He said, the complainant Tusambat Jyothi is a beggar and having a daughter Pooja aged about 15 months. They reside in a temporary hut at NTR Nagar Hyderabad.

On September 2, the accused people got acquainted with the baby girl's mother through some common friends and took her to their rented room at Bibinagar on the pretext of giving shelter, police said.

On the night of September 4, the duo offered liquor to the woman and kidnapped the baby when the mother was drunk.

They took the child to Secunderabad. On September 8, a case was registered at Bibinagar police station on complaint of Jyothi.

The Bibinagar police strived hard and apprehended the accused persons Madhavi and Raju on early hours of Monday and rescued the child Pooja from them.

Police said the arrests were made under the direct supervision of Rachakonda CP Mahesh M Bhagwat, ACP N Bhujanga Rao, CI Y Surendar Reddy, Sub-Inspector, Bibinagar PS Ch Sudhakar, ASI Sk Madar, police constables B Ramu, Y Yalendar Reddy and others.
