Man gets life for kidnap, rape 3-year-old girl

Hyderabad: The 1st Additional District Sessions court at Sangareddy convicted one P Srinivas (57) to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life and imposed fine of Rs 5,000 for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl.

According to police, on 31 December 2017, the victim girl (3) went missing when she came out of her house to a nearby shop. The accused P Srinivas in an inebriated state noticed the girl who was weeping. He took the girl, gave her a biscuit and took her to nearby bushes and forcibly committed rape.

When the accused came out from bushes along with the victim girl who was weeping, nearby persons questioned the accused, then he tried to flee from the spot, they caught hold of him and handed him over to RC Puram Police.

The Police interrogated the accused and, on his confession, and victim's statement, registered a case under sections 366(A), 376(1) IPC and Sec 4& 6 of POCSO Act. He was remanded to judicial custody.
