Mayor focuses on cleanliness in Warangal
Warangal: Greater Warangal Mayor Gunda Prakash Rao said that his 'Nagara Bata' (city visit) programme is giving him an opportunity to know and solve the hardships faced by the denizens. Speaking to the residents at 47th Division here on Sunday, he assured them of resolving issues faced by them at the earliest.
The Mayor, who noticed stagnant water at Gokul Nagar area, directed the officials to prepare proposals to address the problem. Further he told them to clear the clogging in the drains at regular intervals.
The Mayor directed the Corporation's health officials to slap a fine of Rs 10,000 on Ramnagar resident Raheem for causing a drain clogged by cement, sand and metal during the construction of his house.
He also instructed officials to book a criminal case against a resident who allegedly encroaching a drain. Municipal Commissioner N Ravi Kiran, Corporator Nalla Swaroopa Rani, Chada Swathi Reddy and MHO Dr Raja Reddy were among others present.
