Middlemen role totally weeded out: Telangana Deputy Speaker Padma Rao
Secunderabad: Deputy Speaker of Telangana T Padma Rao Goud said that the state government had been implementing several schemes for the welfare of poor in the state. On Tuesday, deputy speaker distributed Kalyanlakshmi/Shadi Mubarak and CMRF cheques to beneficiaries at his camp office at Namala Gundu.
Speaking on the occasion, Padma Rao Goud said that the state government had ensured that no intermediaries were involved in the implementation various welfare schemes. The cash benefits in case of Asara pensions, Rythu Bandhu and other welfare schemes were handed over directly to beneficiaries, to ensure misuse of the schemes, he said. He said that pensions would be given to all eligible persons in the constituency and efforts were being done to identify beneficiaries. Secunderabad constituency stands top in allotting CMRF funds to poor, he said.
Among those who were present on the occasion include corporator Alakunta Saraswathi, Maredpally MRO Sunil Kumar and others. Later, Padma Rao handed over cheques for Rs 84 lakh to 95 beneficiaries.
