Milk prices up by Rs 2 per litre

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Limited (TSDDCF) has increased milk prices by Rs 2 per litre with effect from Monday.

A TSDDCF statement on Sunday said the revised prices of Vijaya Telangana will come into effect from Monday. However, there is no change in the prices of the 'Standard and Whole' milk varieties of Vijaya Telangana, it added.

The TSDDCF is distributing five lakh litres of milk every day earning Rs 30 crore per day and making a business turnover of Rs 360 crore annually.

According to the revised rates consumers will have to pay Rs 19 for Diet Milk variety of 500 ml and Rs 8.50 paise for a 200 ml sachet of Double Toned milk variety. Similarly, prices of Double Toned milk of 300 ml and 500 ml will cost Rs 12 and Rs 20, respectively.

Likewise, the 500 ml packets of Family Milk and Tea Special Milk varieties will cost Rs 21 and the 200 ml and 500 ml packets of Toned Milk variety is going to cost Rs 9 and Rs 22, respectively.

The TSDDCF said that the Toned Milk of 1000 ml will cost Rs 44 and the six liters of the same variety will cost Rs 258 as per the revised prices. Vijaya Telangana cow milk will cost Rs 22 for a packet of 500 ml.

Following the revised prices, the vendor margin is hiked by 25 paise per litre and the base margin per litre is fixed at Rs 3.25 per litre.
