Nalgonda: Final rites of Nomula performed with State honours

Palem (Nalgonda): Amidst villagers, supporters, fans and people's representatives, the last rights of Nagarjuna Sagar MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah were performed with State honors at his agriculture field in Palem of Nakrekal constituency on Thursday.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, Deputy Chairman Nethi Vidyasagar, Ministers Mahmood Ali, Jagadish Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, V Prasanth Reddy, Eatala Rajender, Rythu Bandhu State president Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, MPs, MLAs of the erstwhile Nalgonda district and party senior leaders attended the funeral ceremony and paid tributes to the late TRS MLA. CM KCR consoled the bereaved family members.

At about 7 am on Thursday, the body of Narsimhaiah, who passed away on Tuesday, was brought to his residence from Kamineni Hospital in Narketpally. The body was placed for one hour at his residence for public viewing, later the funeral procession was taken out from Nakrekal to his agriculture field in Palem where the last rites were performed.

Police personnel gave a gun salute to the late MLA firing three rounds in the air. Leaders and mourners observed two-minute silence in his memory. Narsimhaiah's son Nomula Bhagath lit the pyre.
