Officials lift five gates of Taliperu project,release over 16,000 cusecs water

Bhadrachalam: The officials lifted five gates of Taliperu project and released 16,485 cusecs water into the Godavari river here on Thursday. The district administration has been monitoring the flood situation in the district.

The Collector conducted teleconferences with all tahsildars and gave orders to take all measures in the flood- affected areas. Meanwhile, Godavari water level reached at 35.5 feet at 6 pm on Thursday here at Bhadrachalam.

The officials of the Central Water Commission said that the water level would rise slowly and may reach 38 feet at 6 am on Friday and after that it would receded slowly.
