Orders for LRS issued in new municipalities, corporations

Hyderabad: Ahead of the municipal elections in the State, Telangana government on Tuesday issued orders for regularisation of unapproved and illegal layouts for the newly constituted municipal corporations and municipalities.

According to the MA&UD officials, Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) would be applicable to the newly constituted municipalities / municipal corporations only.

The plots renewed on or before March 30, 2018 which is the also the date of promulgating notification regarding new ULBs would only eligible for regularisation.

In case of municipalities / municipal corporations falling in HMDA limits, the plots would be regularised by HMDA. In case of other municipalities / municipal corporations, DTCP will regularise them.

The officials said that the applications should be submitted to respective urban local bodies/ urban development authorities. No layout /development activity would be allowed in the bed of water bodies like river, or nala, and in the full tank level (FTL)/ buffer zone of any lake, pond, cheruvu or kunta and in Shikam lands and other prohibited categories.

Penal charges would be based on land values. More penal amount would be imposed for plots having more market value and less penal amount for plots having less market value.

The penal for small plots would be less and the amount would increase depending upon size of plots. All the applications would be processed online only.

LRS approval would be given within 6-month from the date of payment of full amount. In case of rejection, appeals can be filed before appellate authority concerned.
