Post poll violence erupts in Bhongir, Devarakonda

Yadadri-Bhongir/Nalgonda: The post poll violence took place at Chandupatla village of Bhongir mandal in the district on Wednesday.

According to villagers, local TRS leaders attacked the house of village 9th ward member and Congress leader Sama Sagar Reddy. They also attacked Reddy's wife and mother who tried to obstruct them. Political attack disturbed the peace in the village. Earlier Sama Sagar Reddy was a TRS leader and won as 9th Ward member during gram panchayat elections. Recently, he shifted his loyalties to Congress and campaigned in favor of Congress during MPTC elections. In MPTC election, Congress won the MPTC seat. Incensed over the result, the TRS leaders ransacked the Sagar Reddy's house. In this attack, the entrance gate of the house was completely damaged. Sagar Reddy's wife Vijaya and mother Laxmi also suffered injuries while try to stop the attack. They were shifted to Area hospital in Bhongir for treatment.

Sagar Reddy with list of names of TRS leaders who attacked his house lodged a complaint at Bhongir Rural police for necessary action. As part of investigation, CI Surender Reddy visited Chandupatla village and collected information from victims Laxmi and Vijaya.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday late night, tension prevailed in Pathlavath Thanda of Devarakonda mandal in Nalgonda district due to attack of TRS leaders on the houses of CPI leaders. TRS leaders entered into the houses of CPI leaders and allegedly beat them up. In this attack, four persons belongs to CPI suffered grave injuries and were shifted to government hospital in Devarakonda for treatment. Police picket was established in the village to restore normality. CPI leaders demanded stern action against the attackers.
