Private hospitals to resume Aarogyasri services
Hyderabad: The Telangana private hospitals has called off their five-day strike of boycotting Aarogyasri services all over the state. This decision was announced after discussions with Health Minister Eatala Rajender held at Secretariat till late evening on Tuesday.
Addressing media, Rajender said that they have paid Rs 560 crore so far with the pending dues coming to Rs 490 crore. In the near future, Aarogyasri payments will be made every month, he said, adding that a committee would be formed involving hospitals in the process.
Further, the minister stated that a committee would be formed to look into MoU made with hospital managements ten years ago. It will look into all issues and do necessary modifications.
Speaking to newsmen, Telangana Private Network Hospitals president V Rakesh said that they decided to call off their fight for release of dues in view of government's positive response and assurances to our demands.
"We thank Chief Minister for addressing our issues with the intervention of the Health Minister. Aarogyasri scheme of Telangana is much better than Ayushman Bharat of the Centre and hence we want Aarogyasri to be
continued like before," Rakesh said.
