Warangal: The functionaries of All India Professionals' Congress (AIPC) led by its Warangal Chapter President Dr Puli Anil Kumar launched a signature campaign demanding that the State government ensure proper facilities especially life-saving mechanical ventilation (MV) in the MGM Hospital.

It may be mentioned here that AIPC is an affiliated organisation of the Congress that helps country's professionals connect with the Congress and bring their voices into politics and policy making.

Speaking at the launch of campaign near MGM Hospital here on Thursday, Warangal District Congress Committee president N Rajender Reddy criticised the State government for its insensitiveness towards people's health. "The 1,000-bed MGM Hospital which is the only establishment in north Telangana region is mired in the vortex of problems.

The infrastructure in the hospital is not on a par with the requirement. In fact, the life-saving ventilators are also not in a proper condition," he said. The hospital has just six ventilators, he said, criticising the government for not providing adequate infrastructure.

"Minister for Health E Rajender and Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao have reviewed the services provided by the MGM Hospital twin in as many months, but they failed to address the problems faced by the patients," Rajender Reddy said.

Even though both the Minister made tall promises, their vows remained unfulfilled so far, the DCC president said. He said that the Congress would launch an agitation if the government fails to install more ventilators in the MGM Hospital.

Senior leaders Katla Srinivas Rao, Namindla Srinivas, E V Srinivas Rao, Bathini Srnivas Rao, Modem Sridhar Goud, T Rammohan Rao, Rahat Parveen, P venkat Reddy, Sa Rajanikanth and G ramdev were among others present.
