TS Employees' JAC calls on CS
Hyderabad: Telangana Employees JAC had deferred an important meeting scheduled on Thursday at eleventh hour and called on State Chief Secretary SK Joshi in the Secretariat to apprise the top official of the ongoing TSRTC workers agitation and also the unresolved long pending demands raised by the government employees.
The JAC also warned of organising agitational programmes in a phased manner if their demands are not met.
The employees JAC had extended solidarity with the striking TSRTC workers but stayed away from taking part in the agitations directly. The JAC is supposed to take a decision on participating in the State bandh called by RTC employees JAC on October 19 in Telangana.
The JAC consisting of TNGOs, TGOs and Telangana Employees Union decided to meet the chief secretary before finalising its decision to join RTC workers stir.
The employees JAC submitted a memorandum with 16 demands to Joshi and pleaded with the official to address their pending issues at the earliest.
The demands include implementation of PRC to all government workers, repatriation of all Telangana born employees working in the neighbouring AP government and the enhancement of retirement age limit to 61 from 58.
The other demands are implementation of health schemes to the employees of universities, local bodies, aided institutions and library employees and abolition of outsourcing agencies and payment of salaries to the outsourcing workers directly by government.
The union leaders said that the JAC requested the government to expedite action on the issued raised by them and call for the meeting with the representatives of employees' unions.
If the issues are not resolved within the reasonable time, the JAC will have no other option but to launch agitations.
