Tupran: Cheats held for conning ATM users

Tupran: Town police took three people into custody for cheating gullible people at ATM centres. The accused were identified as Neelam Ishwaraiah alias Siva, Maheshwar Muni and Kondaparthi Aditya. A bike and Rs 32, 500 were also seized from them. According to police, the accused cheated people at Rs 1,04,000 so far.

Explaining the modus operandi, police said that they target people at ATM centres. On the pretext of helping, they steal secret details like CVV, OTP etc from ATM users. By using these details later, they fraudulently withdraw money from victim's bank accounts.

The cheats were caught by CI Swami Goud, SI Subhash and staff, while they were roaming suspiciously at one ATM centre, here on Thursday. One more accused Venkatesh is at large. Officials appreciated Laxma Reddy, Govardhan and Dasharath, who helped in nabbing the culprits.
