Work transparently, focus on development: MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh Babu asks civic body

Vemulawada: MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh Babu appealed the newly elected members of Vemulawada Municipality to work transparently and to strive hard for the development of the town.

He was the chief guest and an ex-officio member at the first meeting of Vemulawada municipality ruling body held under the leadership of Municipal Chairperson R Madhavi here on Wednesday.

Speaking at the meeting, the MLA thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and IT Minister KT Rama Rao for upgrading Vemulwada as a revenue division. He suggested the ruling body to keep aside politics and to focus on development of the town. He asked the officials to make efforts to get more funds in coordination with the temple authorities, for conducting Maha Sivaratri jatara on a grand scale.

With an investment of Rs 42 crore, Mission Bhagiratha works are about to start in the town. Once the works are completed, there will be water in Gudi Cheruvu for 365 days. Very soon 100-bed hospital will come into utility in Vemulawada town, the MLA announced.

Arrange special meeting to discuss land grabbers and to take stringent action against the persons involved in such illegal business, he ordered. Ramesh Babu informed that within a few days, the construction works of side drains, burial grounds and laying of CC roads, which were taken up with an investment of Rs 23 crore will be completed. All the members must compete with each other in terms of development, he suggested and asked them to focus on the issues related to the merger villages.

Launching Rs 5 per meal programme, MLA Ramesh Babu thanked IT Minister KT Rama Rao for taking the initiation for introducing the programme in Vemulawada town. Chairman Madhavi and Vice-Chairman Madhu Rajendar were present along with others.
