Gundala (Yadadri-Bhongir): A woman, Maruthamma, a resident of Thatipamula of Tirumalagiri mandal, has questioned the Village Revenue Officer Srinivas with regard to delay in issuing of pattadar passbook with regard to 30 guntas of land that she got from her parents, even after taking a bribe of Rs 2,000 for the work in 2016 and asked him to return the bribe money immediately in a full public view.

This has shocked the staff at the Gundala Tahsildar Office who were protesting with black badges at launch time against the brutal murder of Abdullapurmet Tahsildar Vijaya Reddy.

Shocked over the quizzing of VRO by Maruthamma, the revenue staff were forced to call off their protest.

In his explanation, the VRO informed to the media that Maruthamma's brothers Golkonda Bikshamaiah and Yellaiah urged him to stop issuing the passbook to their sister as she failed to pay an agreed amount to them. He further refuted that he had not taken any bribe from Maruthamma.
