Tirupati: The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple started on Thursday morning with the Dhwajarohanam, hoisting of the celestial flag in the auspicious Mithuna Lagnam 8 am and 9:30am.

Archakas and Veda pundits hoisted the flag (with the Garuda image) on the temple pillar amidst chanting of Veda mantras and mangala vaidyams and later Srivari Asthanam was performed within the complex. However, devotees were not allowed to view due to coronavirus restrictions.

TTD also organised Snapana Tirumanjanam in the afternoon. In the evening, Pedda Sesha Vahanam was performed within the temple corridors.

Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami, Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami, Special Grade Dy EO Varalakshmi and other temple staff were present.
