GHMC Elections 2020: Important Dates

Much awaited Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Elections will be held in all the 150 wards on December 1 and counting of votes will be held on December 4.

Telangana State Election Commissioner C Partha Sarathi released schedule and notification on December 17. Mr. Sarathi also mentioned that GHMC Elections will be held on ballot paper and not using EVMs.

The date of filing of nominations will begin from November 18 and Last Date of Nomination will be November 20, Scrutiny on November 21 and Last Date of Withdrawl of Nomination will be on November 22.

Polling on December 1 will start from 7AM and will be upto 6PM. Telangana State is planning to deploy 25,000 to 30,000 police personnel to safely conduct GHMC Elections.

Mr. Sarathi also mentioned that GHMC elections will be held adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

Polling Date: 1 December 7AM to 6PM
