Everyone has to preserve our cultural heritage: Kartikeya Mishra
“Everyone has the responsibility to preserve the cultural and artistic heritage and legacy that reflects our nation’s pre-eminence for the coming generations,” said District Collector Kartikeya Mishra.

The Collector participated as a chief guest to an awareness meet on preserving the heritage sites and monuments held at Suryakalamandiram auditorium. He addressed many high school and aided school teachers in Kakinada corporation range. It was organized by the Indian National Trust for Art and Culture Heritage (INTAC), East Godavari chapter here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion Mishra said that when we preserve our nation’s historical and cultural heritage only then our honour and existence of the race will last long. Mishra further said that history and existence of the western countries have not been beyond the age of four hundred years but Indian history and culture has continued to be a long time stream he added. He also said that while the western countries are proud to preserve their existence and historic wealth, we are ignoring to preserve the national wealth.
Mishra has given a call for a collective responsibility to preserve and sustain our rich heritage wealth for the coming generations. He urged the youth and children to follow and listen to the elders and old people in our homes as they are the carriers of the ancient culture and arts of past. Mishra further informed that there are 23 heritage monuments in Kakinada including the Collector's Office and further told that they are giving much importance, by adding them in tourism development.
Collector Mishra finally urged all the teachers to pass the knowledge which they have learned in this workshop to all the school children and urged the teachers to make all the children as protectors of culture and tradition of our nation.
INTAC district chapter convenor L Seshu Kumari, co-convenor VLN Murthy, KMC Deputy Commissioner Srinivasa Rao and eminent persons in the city participated.
