Hundreds of devotees participated in Srivari Shobha Yatra organised by the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) from the Gymkhana Grounds in the city on Sunday as part of Sri Srinivasa Kalyanam.

The Yatra was held under the aegis of Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Astakshari Sampath Kumara Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamy. The idols of Sri Venkateswara Swamy and His Consorts were taken on a decorated chariot.

Women performed Bhajans and Kolatam all along the Yatra. The chants of `Govinda, Govinda’ rent the air. The Yatra passed through the main streets of Gandhinagar and Satyanarayanapuram.

Devotees lined up on either side of the road to have a glimpse of the Lord. They showered flower petals on the chariot. Police diverted vehicular traffic in some streets to ensure the smooth conduct of Yatra.
