About 400 students from 40 colleges from all over the State took part in ‘Convergence-2016’, a State-level commerce meet, organized by the Department of Commerce and Business Administration of PB Siddhartha College of Arts and Science at Siddhartha Auditorium on Thursday.

Participating as chief guest for the inaugural session Former Dean, IPE, Hyderabad, Prof ML Sai Kumar elaborated how commerce education has also gotten a fillip along with globalization. He felt that commerce students have to build up themselves with a global perspective.

It can only be possible through comparative and multidisciplinary prospective, he said. “A lucrative career is awaiting students and those with soft skills will excel further. These competitions will help students enhance their personality,” he added.

MBA Department Head, Dr Rajesh C Jamapala said that convergence is a get-together for Commerce students from various colleges. Competitions are held to test the skills and knowledge of participants. He said the college management would continue to conduct such programs for the benefit of the student community.

‘Balance Sheet Analysis’ made students tackle numbers and ‘Commerce Quiz’ made them realize their conceptual understanding. Black and White and ‘Jhalak Diklaja’ were the other events held on the occasion.

Later, in the evening the host students enthralled the audience with dance, fashion show of both traditional and western outfits, and a comedy skit. College PG Centre Director K Krishna Murthy, convener Chalasani Dutt, event coordinator Dr Md S Rahaman and other faculty members were also present.
