Post the demonetization drive, Dharmasagaram village of Narsipatnam mandal in Visakhapatnam has become the first village in Andhra Pradesh to go cashless.

Assistant collector Saikanth Varma who visited the village and trained students, also interacted with the families in the village, elaborating the benefits of the cashless transactions.

Meanwhile, Andhra Bank extended its services by opening accounts of eligible persons in the village and issued debit cards to the customers along with providing PoS machines to the vendors in the village.

The people in the village are now purchasing all their necessities through plastic currency while the officials are paying the wages and pensions online.
