Woman set ablaze for rejecting sexual favours

Nellore: A married woman was set to ablaze by a youth at her house two days ago which came to light on Tuesday. According to sources, Shaik Saira Bhanu (40) has been residing near Barashahid darga. Yusuf Pathan, who hails from Kotamitta area, was working as sales promoter in a mobile company.

He was harassing Saira Bhanu for last two years seeking sexual favours. Two days ago, agitated Pathan set Saira Bhanu ablaze after she rejected his offer and fled away.

On hearing her screams, local people came to her rescue and rushed her to a hospital.

Doctors said that her health condition is critical. Circle Inspector Abdul Kareem said that a case was registered against Yusuf and launched hunt to nab the accused.
