Minister seeks PSUs funds for Victoria General Hospital in vizag
Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas called upon both the public sector units and private companies to be a part of the development of Victoria General Hospital of the city under the Corporate Social Responsibility funds.

The Minister held a review meeting with the district officials alongside local MP Dr K Haribabu about the issues and development plans pertaining to various hospitals of the city, including King George Hospital, Government ENT Hospital, Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences, Government Hospital for Mental Care, Victoria General Hospital and others.
Addressing the officials and other stake holders, Srinivas directed the officials to develop the specialty block works at the King George Hospital. Later, he told the representatives of various public and private companies to extend their assistance in developing the Victoria General Hospital.
He told them that there are plans to improve the facilities of the VGH with Rs 20 crore to make it a place for sophisticated maternal and child services.Dr K Haribabu said that the companies had contributed about Rs 72 crore for the specialty block at the KGH under the CSR funds.
These companies have also contributed Rs 3.2 crore for furniture at 83 schools in the district. Earlier, Srinivas inaugurated the dialysis unit at the Visakha Institute of Medial Sciences and said that they will develop the VIMS into a super-specialty hospital.
Principal Secretary (Health) Poonam Malakondaiah, District Collector Pravin Kumar, Director of Medical Education Dr N Subbarao, DM&HO Dr J Sarojini, KGH superintendent Dr G Arjuna and others were present.
